We've established this team to make our involvement in your oncology care as simple as possible. Our aim is to provide a service to our members, which will help you by being co-operative and caring.
Experienced staff will communicate with you throughout the management of your claims, to smooth any concerns you may have about the financial aspects of your treatment. Integrity and confidentiality will be displayed at all times during your treatment plan; we will act in the utmost good faith to offer an efficient service.
Our plans will cover you for cancer surgery under the hospital or In-patient benefit and you will be referred to an oncologist, usually after the operation.
1. Make contact with the Society and speak to one of our Oncology Support Team.
2. We will take the details and check your benefits, confirming whether you may proceed.
3. After the first course of your chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment we will be in a position to advise how many of the remaining cycles will be covered according to your chosen plan and consult with you and your oncologist directly.
4. Should you reach the maximum benefit on your plan, we will then agree with your oncologist to transfer any remaining cycles to the NHS or you may wish to fund the remaining treatment costs yourself.
5. We will assess invoices according to your chosen plan and pay medical providers direct.
At each stage of your treatment, your contact within the Oncology Support Team will consult with the Society's CMO.
The Oncology Support Team are available on +44 (0) 01392 353500.
