Cancelling your policy

Should your circumstances change and you decide to cancel your policy, please contact us on +44 (0) 1392 353500 to discuss your options with the Policy Review Team. We may have an alternative plan which may meet your needs.

If you tell us of your intention to cancel during the 14 day period at the start of your policy, we will refund any premiums that have already been paid for that year. This is only relevant to cheque payers, as credit card and direct debit payments will not start until you have returned your policy acceptance form, enclosed with your Welcome pack. This is your statutory right to cancel.

Every year, we will write to you at least 3 weeks before your renewal date with details for the new policy year. This will include your revised premium and any changes that have been made on the plan so you can decide if the cover still meets your needs.

If you are on an age at entry plan, you will notice that the premium increases will be lower than you may have experienced with other insurers. This is because of the way the Society protects its current members - please see our Age on Entry pricing for further details.

You will also note that, unlike many other insurers, we do not adjust your premium to take account of any claims that you have made in the past year. We believe this process (and not No claim discounts) is more inkeeping with our status as a friendly society.

If you still wish to cancel your annual policy, simply contact us by telephone or in writing and we will action your request. It is important to note that cancellations at any other time are at the sole discretion of the Society, and any decision will take into account any premiums or claims paid in the current year.
